The Royal Norwegian Air Force has taken delivery of their first Search and Rescue configured AW-101 helicopter. The aircraft - registration 0268 - departed the Leonardo Helicopters factory at Yeovil on November 17, 2017 for Sola Air Base in Norway.

Entry into service is due to take place in 2018 after a period of test and evaluation in Norway. A total of sixteen SAR AW-101s will be delivered to Norway, with the final helicopter due to arrive in 2020.

The AW-101s will replace the Sea King in the SAR role and will be deployed to six bases around Norway.
