The first two Italian Air Force Lockheed F-35As for 32 Stormo arrived at Amendola Airbase on December 12, 2016.

The aircraft involved are MM7336/32-05 (c/n AL-5) and MM7337/32-13 (c/n AL-6)

The two aircraft were delivered from the Alenia final assembley facility at Cameri in Northern Italy.

The Italian Air Force currently has three F-35As operating with the 56th Fighter Wing at Luke Air Force Base in the United States but the two aircraft delivered to Amendola are the first to be operated in Italy.
