The 2018 ILA opened in Berlin on April 25, 2018 with this year's show including a decent selection of military participation from around the world.

The USAF flew in two F-35A from the 61st FS at Luke AFB (11-4040 and 12-5054), while the US Navy brouht an F/A-18E from VFA-136 (166824/AB-304), EA-18G from VAQ-137 (168269/AB-502), MH-60R of HSM-72 (168152/AB-710) and P-8A 168433/LD-433 of VP-10.
Sikorsky showed off their CH-53K 169019 in the daily flying programme, while the JMSDF shows off the capabilities of P-1 5508 (3 Kokutai) in the air and 5503 (51 Kokutai) on the ground.
