September 2nd 2015 - The first two Lockheed F-35As arrived at Hill AFB to enter service with the Air Combat Command's 388th Fighter Wing and it's associated Reserve unit the 419th Fighter Wing.
The two aircraft 1?-5071 and 1?-5072 are first F-35As to be delivered to Hill AFB in Utah.
They will be the first combat coded F-35As in USAF service and eventually a total of 72 Lightning IIs will be delivered to Hill by 2019. The first squadron to operate the type is the 34th Fighter Squadron.
