The US State Department has approved a possible Foreign Military Sale to Kenya for up to twelve Air Tractor AT-802Ls and two AT-504s (trainer variant).

The package also including weapons, support and project management is estimated at a total cost of $418 million with L3 Communications as the prime contractor.

The AT-802 has become a popular counter insurgency aircraft in recent years and is likley to be used against Al Shabaab insurgents in east Africa.
