On 18.05.16 two Italian Air Force F-35As arrived at Lajes in the Azores on their journey across the Atlantic to the United States. The two F-35As are MM7333/32-02 and MM7334/32-03 and they are destined for Luke Air Force Base in Arizona. They were supported two KC-767As and one KC-130J.
This is the second Atlantic crossing by for an F-35A, with MM7332 crossing to Patuxent River back in February.
Two Royal Netherlands Air Force F-35As are due to make the first trip in the opposite direction next week when they head from the US to Leeuwarden.
