The United Arab Emirates' Defence Ministry placed an order for five Airbus C-295 transport aircraft at the Dubai Air Show on November 15, 2017.

Deliveries of the aircraft will begin in late 2018 and they are due to replace CN.235s that the UAE Air Force currently operates.
