After a single flypast during RIAT 2023, this B-52H crew performed a crabwalk demo almost the full length of RAF Fairford's 10,000 foot runway. During this demo the port-side wing took out 18 of the landing lights as the crew waved to the adoring crowds. The B-52's main landing gear allows the jet to fly in a full 20 degrees of crab whilst the gear remains pointing forward. This improves the cross-wind landing capabilities of the aircraft, despite its tiny rudder.
