First CMV-22B Osprey Arrives at Patuxent River

The first CMV-22B Osprey for the United States Navy arrived at NAS Patuxent River, Maryland on February 02, 2020 after completing a delivery flight from the Bell factory in Amarillo, Texas.

The initial Osprey is 169435 and it will be one of two operated by HX-21 for testing before the type enters service as a replacement for the C-2A Greyhound in the Carrier Onboard Delivery (COD) mission. The first operational squadron, VRM-30, is expected to receive it's first CMV-22B this summer with operational testing due to begin in 2021.
