The UK's Ministry of Defence has announced that the Army Air Corp's Westland Gazelle AH.1s are to remain in service until 2025. A new service contract is to be put in place by March 2018.
There are currently just over 30 Gazelles in use, based at Odiham, Aldergrove, Middle Wallop and Suffield in Canada.
